Quality Manager

At Exlabesa, we are currently looking for a Quality Manager to join our facility in Doncaster with the next mission:

 

Mission

Develop, implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with industry standards (including ISO 9001), accreditation requirements and company objectives. Ensure the effectiveness of quality processes across the organisation by driving continuous improvement, maintaining compliance and promoting a strong quality culture. Lead the Quality team to achieve customer satisfaction, operational excellence and key business performance targets.

 

Main Duties

  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
  • Review and update Risk Assessments annually, or whenever changes to processes or operations require them.
  • Promote the reporting of near misses and improvement suggestions to support accident prevention and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained throughout the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and quality standards.
  • Lead, coach and develop Quality Inspectors, Process Engineers and other Quality team members by providing guidance, training and regular feedback.
  • Prepare analytical reports and presentations using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, as well as the company’s ERP/APS systems.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance and Customer Service teams to investigate, resolve and prevent customer complaints and non-conformities.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives by providing technical expertise and supporting process optimisation.
  • Promote personal and professional development within the team.
  • Motivate and coach team members to achieve operational and quality objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability by ensuring employees understand quality standards, performance expectations and behaviours.
  • Communicate Quality KPIs and business objectives effectively across the team.
  • Ensure all procedures within the Quality Management System are implemented and consistently followed.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System to ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
  • Manage external certification and surveillance audits, ensuring that any non-conformities are effectively addressed and closed within agreed timescales.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and process audits to verify compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure customer complaints are investigated promptly and closed within agreed response times.
  • Monitor quality performance indicators and implement corrective and preventive actions where required.
  • Carry out any other duties reasonably requested by the Operations Manager.

 

Profile

  • Proven experience in a Quality Manager or Senior Quality Engineer role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the aluminium field.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and international standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and REACH requirements.
  • Experience managing internal and external audits and dealing with certification bodies.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate, coach and develop teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Self-motivated, well organised and able to work independently.
