History

The origins of Exlabesa go back to the decade of the 60s. Shortly afterwards came the commissioning of the first extrusion lines and the powder coating and anodising plants.

In 1992, an ambitious expansion plan was carried out. This allowed the company to complete the aluminium production cycle under one roof at its Valga, Rois and Padrón sites.

Exlabesa began its international expansion in Europe in 2001, taking over on of the most importants aluminium extrusion companies in the UK.

Exlabesa goes one step further in its international expansion in 2007 with the opening of a new production site in Tangier-Morroco, from where the markets of North Africa and West Africa will be served.

In 2009 a new production site was opened in Tułowice (Poland). It will allow the company to penetrate the markets of Central Europe and Eastern Europe.

Exlabesa becomes a global player with the entry into the United States market, where a large production site is aquired. It will enable the company to position itself in one of the most competitive markets in the aluminium sector worldwide.

The Minden factory (Germany), specialized in manufacturing high added value profiles for sectors such as mechanical, medical, electrical or automotive engineering, has been one of the most important Exlabesa acquisitions.

The latest addition to the group has been a new built factory located near Coimbra, in Portugal. This high-value aluminium extrusion plant is part of the consolidation of Exlabesa’s strategic position in the European market.

The latest addition has been the acquisition of Exlabesa Flandria factory. This French company, based in Warneton, is specialised in the extrusion, machining, surface treatment, and recycling of aluminum profiles. This allowed Exlabesa to consolidate its direct presence in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, offering high-value-added products with the highest level of service in these markets.
