World Trade Center Lisboa
The Portuguese capital has become an international centre for modern architecture in recent decades. One example is the World Trade Center, developed by JQPV Arquitetos Associados as one of Lisbon’s largest business centres, located in its metropolitan area.
With an area of 70 000 m2, the two buildings are interconnected by public squares that serve as transit and rest areas. The recognisable facades of the WTC have been uniquely designed using glazing systems and a cladding of large aluminium louvres, extruded by Exlabesa for the facade specialists Jofebar S.A.. These slats give them their particular aesthetics based on vertical and horizontal lines, both straight and curved, as well as a protection factor against external factors thanks to the excellent properties of aluminium such as its resistance and durability.
Exlabesa’s large industrial capacities allow us to extrude aluminium profiles for bespoke facades, thus providing a technical response to the construction needs of contemporary architecture in order to create customised envelopes with practically no limits.
