Institutional visit by the Government Delegation in Galicia to Exlabesa to learn about our innovation and industrial development projects
  • As part of an institutional visit, we showcased our key initiatives in innovation, sustainability and industrial development at our facilities in Padrón and Rois, further strengthening our position as a leading player in the global aluminium industry.

At Exlabesa, we were pleased to welcome the Government Delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, on an institutional visit to our facilities in Padrón and Rois. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase first-hand some of the strategic projects we are driving forward to strengthen our position as one of the leading industrial players in the global aluminium sector.

During the visit, we toured our production and recycling plants, where we shared our growth strategy, the technological advances implemented in recent years, and the initiatives we are developing to continue leading the transformation of the industry towards more efficient, innovative and sustainable models.

The visit was also attended by the mayors of Padrón and Rois, Anxo Arca and Ramón Tojo respectively, as well as the Deputy Government Delegate in A Coruña, Julio Abalde, who were able to gain a detailed insight into the activities we carry out from Galicia for markets around the world.

At Exlabesa, we continue to develop projects aimed at modernising our production processes and advancing new solutions for strategic, high value-added sectors. During the visit, we shared some of the initiatives we are undertaking in areas related to sustainable mobility and the development of advanced solutions for the industry of the future, further reinforcing our commitment to research and applied innovation.

During his visit, the Government Delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted that “Galicia has the talent, industrial capability and leading companies required to play a key role in Spain’s economic and industrial transformation”, underlining the important contribution that companies such as Exlabesa make to the region’s industrial development.

More than 60 years at the forefront of the aluminium industry from Galicia

With more than six decades of experience, Exlabesa has established itself as one of the leading companies in the manufacture of aluminium profiles and components, with a presence in more than 60 countries and an international network of 11 production facilities.

Our industrial capabilities enable us to undertake highly complex technical projects, supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure that includes two of the largest extrusion presses in Europe, with capacities of 65 and 85 MN. These large-scale extrusion capabilities place us in a privileged position to meet the demands of increasingly demanding and specialised industrial sectors.

During the visit, the Government Delegate recognised our business track record and the growth achieved over more than six decades, highlighting our international expansion and our ability to compete successfully in global markets from Galicia.

Leading the transition towards a more sustainable industry

Sustainability is an integral part of our business strategy and long-term vision. That is why we continue to promote initiatives focused on the circular economy and reducing the environmental footprint of the aluminium industry.

One example of this commitment is RE-local, our low-carbon recycled aluminium range, developed to support a more efficient and environmentally responsible industry. Through our recycling and production capabilities, we are advancing towards an industrial model that combines competitiveness, innovation and sustainability.

Pedro Blanco also highlighted our ability to position ourselves “at the forefront of industry and compete from Galicia in the most demanding international markets through innovation, technology and sustainability”, recognising the continuous effort we make to develop increasingly advanced and responsible solutions.
