Exlabesa Architecture renews the EPD of its main systems, consolidating its commitment to circular building with the incorporation of RE-local 100% recycled aluminium
  • Environmental Product Declarations provide quantitative and transparent data on the environmental impact of door and window systems throughout their life cycle, according to ISO 14025 and UNE-EN 17213 standards.
  • These EPDs are based on the previous Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of doors and windows. The products analysed stand out for their circularity thanks to the incorporation of RE-local, Exlabesa’s 100% recycled aluminium with a low carbon footprint.

Exlabesa Architecture, a leader in the design and manufacture of sustainable and innovative aluminium solutions, has renewed the Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) of its main door and window systems. These declarations have been issued by ReMa Ingeniería SL, an affiliated member of the DAPcons® Programme, and verified by the ITeC (Institute of Construction Technology), and highlight the company’s commitment to circularity through the inclusion of RE-local, its 100% recycled aluminium with a low carbon footprint.

The new EPDs, developed under the ‘cradle to door with options’ standard, analyse the environmental impact of Exlabesa’s window and door systems from the extraction of raw materials to their manufacture, including end of life and their potential for reuse and recycling. This comprehensive analysis has been carried out according to ISO 14025 and UNE-EN 17213 standards, and provides a transparent view on the sustainability of Exlabesa’s products, including both coated and anodised windows and doors.

Environmental Product Declarations are a fundamental tool for sustainable architecture, as they provide verified and quantified data on the environmental impact of products. This allows architects, builders and developers to make more informed decisions, favouring the choice of materials for their projects that contribute to obtaining international environmental certifications such as LEED or BREEAM, among others.

These declarations not only add value to projects, but also respond to the growing demand for environmentally friendly solutions.

A key milestone of this renovation is the incorporation of RE-local, Exlabesa’s 100% recycled aluminium, which significantly reduces the carbon footprint. This progress strengthens the company’s commitment to the circular economy and the decarbonisation targets set by the European Green Pact.
