Machining Operator – Grade 3
Your responsibilities:
The Machining Operator manufactures industrial parts using conventional, semi-automatic, or CNC machine tools. They work in the workshop applying mechanical and computer skills. They operate in accordance with production and quality requirements, as well as hygiene and safety standards.
Your key activities:
- Operate conventional and semi-automatic equipment.
- Assemble and adjust cutting tools, positioning and clamping of the workpiece, and machining parameters (speed, feed, depth of cut, lubrication, etc.).
- Identify equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
- Inspect the produced parts.
- Complete quality and production/manufacturing tracking documents.
- Follow the manufacturing and inspection instructions defined in procedures.
- Identify faults and report them to the line manager.
- Perform visual quality checks on profiles.
- Enter production data into AS400 after completion.
- Carry out first-level preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.
- Hand over information to other teams at the start and end of the shift.
- Liaise with support services as required (maintenance, quality, technical office, packing).
- Basic reading of technical drawings (cutting, punching, etc.).
- Use technical tables (abacuses).
- Use metrology instruments.
- Operate CNC machines.
- Operate multi-axis machine tools.
- Create the necessary programme for the machining operation.
- Adjust the machine.
- Inspect parts and adjust the machine based on the results obtained.
