CRS-140 Galandage Sliding System: maximum opening and visual continuity

CRS-140 Galandage Sliding System: maximum opening and visual continuity
  • The galandage configuration of the CRS-140 transforms the enclosure into an almost invisible element. By disappearing completely into the wall cavities when open, the sliding system frees the entire opening, creating a seamless connection between spaces while enhancing natural light, views and the relationship with the surrounding environment.
  • Designed to maximise opening dimensions and spatial continuity, this system combines transparency, minimalism and outstanding technical performance to meet the demands of contemporary architecture.

Contemporary architecture increasingly calls for solutions that blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. Open, light-filled and flexible environments encourage a more natural connection with the surroundings. At Exlabesa Architecture, we develop systems that respond to this evolution by expanding design possibilities and transforming the way spaces are experienced.

Our CRS-140 minimalist sliding system with galandage configuration has been conceived with precisely this objective in mind: to allow architecture to flow without interruption and enable landscapes, natural light and views to become an integral part of every project.

When the sashes disappear completely into the walls, the enclosure is no longer perceived as a boundary but rather as an invisible architectural element. The opening is fully liberated, and the space takes on a new dimension—more open, more connected and more versatile.

Galandage system for the complete concealment of sliding sashes

The galandage configuration—also known as a galandage system— has become one of the most highly regarded solutions in high-end residential, hospitality and premium architectural projects. Its main advantage lies in its ability to conceal the sliding sashes completely within the walls, freeing the entire opening and creating a seamless transition between interior and exterior spaces.

In the CRS-140, this solution has been developed with particular attention to construction accuracy and ease of installation. The system incorporates spacer profiles screwed to the frame, ensuring from the design stage the exact width of the cavity intended to house the sashes, simplifying on-site execution and guaranteeing perfect concealment.

In addition, dedicated finishing profiles eliminate the need for improvised folded sheet solutions, resulting in a cleaner aesthetic fully aligned with the system’s minimalist design language.

Another distinctive feature of the solution is its galandage meeting stile, composed of two clip-fixed profiles: a base profile screwed to the external enclosure and an outer profile clipped and positioned to the frame. This configuration facilitates installation, contributes to the system’s weather tightness, and allows the profile to be unclipped for sash installation and removal operations only when the sashes are in the open position, thereby enhancing overall safety.

Furthermore, all screw fixings remain completely concealed by the outer clip-fixed profile, preserving the clean lines and refined aesthetic that define the CRS-140.

CRS-140: minimalist at its purest expression

The CRS-140 has been developed according to a design philosophy in which aluminium is reduced to its minimum expression, allowing light, glass and architecture to take centre stage.

Its ultra-slim 25 mm central interlock and the possibility of fully concealing both the frame and the sashes make it possible to achieve up to 99% glazed surface area. The result is a light, elegant and contemporary aesthetic that maximises views and natural daylight.

The galandage configuration further enhances this concept by allowing the enclosure to disappear completely when open, creating uninterrupted visual continuity and a seamless spatial experience.

A minimalist sliding system for large-scale formats

Beyond its minimalist appearance, the CRS-140 stands out for its outstanding technical performance. The system accommodates sashes of up to 4 metres in height and width, with load capacities of up to 500 kg per sash, enabling expansive glazed surfaces and large panoramic openings without compromising user comfort.

Its versatility is further enhanced by advanced solutions such as 90° corner configurations without a mullion, fully integrated continuous thresholds, central locking configurations and smart motorisation options that support complete architectural integration.

The range also incorporates an exclusive patented roller system configurable either on the sash or the frame, developed to optimise manufacturing and installation processes while providing greater flexibility for fabricators and specialist installers.

With the CRS-140 and its galandage solution, Exlabesa Architecture reaffirms its commitment to architecture that is more open, brighter and more connected to its surroundings. A proposal that combines design, innovation and high performance to meet the demands of the most ambitious projects, taking visual transparency and spatial continuity to their highest expression.
