Job Purpose:
The IT Services Technician will leverage their technical skills and expertise to maintain the uptime of IT systems and enhance processes across the manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for providing end-user support, as well as overseeing infrastructure development and maintenance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- User Provisioning: Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes for users.
- Endpoint & Application Support: Provide administration and support for endpoints and applications.
- Active Directory Management: Maintain a Hybrid Active Directory, including group policy management.
- Network & Server Improvement: Work to enhance network configurations and server efficiencies.
- Device Lifecycles: Oversee the lifecycle management of devices.
- Security Management: Manage endpoint, server, and network security.
- Operational Compliance: Ensure IT operations adhere to compliance standards.
- Backup Procedures: Develop and enhance backup procedures.
- Project Management: Manage IT projects under the direction of the Group IT Director.
- Training & Support: Provide advanced training and technical support to staff and stakeholders.
- Security Protocols: Develop procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized access.
- Vendor Evaluation: Assist with hardware, firewall, telecom, and software vendor evaluations, including contract recommendations and negotiations.
- Technical Expertise: Act as a technical resource for the maintenance team on IT-related issues.

Qualifications
Essential (E)
- GCSE grade A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent in English
- GCSE grade A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent in Maths
- Level 4 or higher qualification in IT or relevant experience
Desirable (D)
- Microsoft Certified Qualification
Relevant Experience
Essential (E)
- Significant experience in a Windows Server-based environment (2012R2 and above)
- Hands-on experience in an IT systems administrator/infrastructure role
- Experience with Microsoft 365 AAD/Admin Center
- Familiarity with Exchange Online
Desirable (D)
- Experience with complex infrastructure
- Familiarity with Sophos security software
- Experience with physical servers and virtualization (Hyper-V, ESXi)
- Familiarity with Ubuntu Server
- Experience with CCTV NVRs (Dahua, Truvision)
- Knowledge of Unifi Networking equipment
- Experience with Door Access Control (Paxton)
- Knowledge of VOIP/SIP (Polycom)
- Project Management experience
- Familiarity with PLCs
- Experience with ERP systems
- Familiarity with WSUS
